Healthy Tailgating Ideas

Football season is officially in full swing.  It is easy to keep your focus on healthy eating with a few simple changes in your tailgating munchies.  First of all, any layered dip that you make can be modified to a lower fat and calorie version.  Try using light sour cream or plain Greek yogurt, 2% shredded cheeses and fat free refried beans instead of the regular versions.  For a guacamole dip, add your favorite salsa to cut the fat in half.  To decrease carbohydrate calories, use fresh vegetables instead of chips or pita for dipping.  You will also be getting a healthy dose of vitamins and minerals from the fresh vegetables.  Fresh fruit skewers and melon balls are great for something sweet and healthy!  Happy, healthy tailgating!

Diets Don't Work!

If we put as much time and energy into our long-term weight management goals as we do into “quick-fix, fad diets” we would all be successful!
